What day is it?

wheeeee!!!

there are some things in life which are overlooked... as thrills I mean. One is jumping from a high place and landing firm. Nothing like that to make you catch your breath AND realize your rootedness. Another is being engaged. From the moment I finally asked Sweets if she'd marry me and she said yes I've felt so much myself AND something greater. As a groom (as I'll be until the Huppah!) I'm finding a lot of excitement in simply being with my betrothed, and planning, scheming, dreaming of what our future can be, and how we can celebrate it.

The only trouble is keeping in mind that means are important, and that that is part of what my bride and I must share, too. the logistics of how these plans, dreams, and schemes can be actuallized so that we're still breathing clearly and standing tall after the wedding canopy has come down and the rest of our lives has begun again.

the little sabbath
of our public ring
filled with parents, friends, and love
will be pure joy
a pause in time
for all eternity
to witness our daybreak
yet from that sacred
moment we all will
gladly return the week
to the light of
our loving-kindness
and work to make
the world ready.
